SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) -- Amsan Ice Festival in Andong, North Gyeongsang province, which had been canceled for three years due to COVID-19, will be held for nine days from the January 28 to Feb. 5.
The festival will be hosted by Andong City on the top of the ice in the Amsan Amusement Park in Andong city, and organized by Korea Foundation For Cultures and Ethics and the promotion committee of Andong Amsan Ice Festival.
Along with various hands-on events such as smelt fishing, skating, sledding, ice sculptures exhibition, and ice walls, "Han Family" concert by young dancers will take place.
The ice sheet of Micheon Stream in the Amsan Amusement Park area froze thicker than usual, so the officials of the festival promotion committee confirmed the schedule and basic plans 22nd of last month.
Nam Sang-ho, manager of the tourism promotion in Andong city, on Wednesday said, "Many people are looking forward to the festival as it is taking place for the first time in three years since 2019," adding, "As it is being held after a long time, we wll do our best to make those who visit satisfied."
