SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) – S. Korean actor Lee Eol, which has performed actively in drama and film scenes, including the movie “The Policeman’s Lineage” and the drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 58.
Lee reportedly died on Thursday morning after suffering from esophageal cancer, according to the agency STARIT Entertainment.
The actor has played diverse roles, such as the baseball coach of the team Dreams in “Stove League”(2019), the father of female lead Seo Yea-ji in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”(2020), and the chief of crime department in “Voice 4”(2021).
Moreover, Lee appeared in the movies “Waikiki Brothers”(2001), “Spring Bears Love”(2003), “Kim Ji-young, Born 1982”(2019), and “The Policeman’s Lineage”(2022) and showed his impressive acting to the viewers.
Lee’s memorial altar will be set up at Seoul Medical Center.
