SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- Action comedy movie "Confidential Assignment 2: International," starring Hyunbin and Yoonah, topped weekend box office for two weeks in a row.
According to the data by the Korea Film Council, the movie garnered 916,000 audiences last weekend (Sept. 16-18), leading the box office.
The movie, only Korean film released after Chuseok holiday, has been maintaining its top position for 12 days in a row since it was first released in Sept. 7. The cumulative audience number was 4,732,000 until previous day, Sept. 18.
Comedy movie "6/45" starring Go Kyung-pyo and Lee Yi-kyung gathered 121,000 audiences, placing second for two weeks in a row.
Animation movies are also showing good performances. Korean animation movie "KATURI THE MOVIE: THE BIG CITY ADVENTURE" and Japanese animation "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero each gathered 38,000 and 10,000 audiences, ranking third and eight respectively.
Long-term box office success "Hunt" and "Top Gun" ranked fourth and fifth while re-released movie "Aladdin" ranked sixth, horror movie "Black Phone" seventh, and singer Kim Ho-joon's movie "VitaDolce" nineth.
