Com2uS to launch metaverse platform 'Com2Verse' in 2024

SEOUL August 25 (Yonhap) -- “In 2023, we will provide the service to enterprise clients then slowly expand up to servicing small medium business owners and individuals by 2024.” South Korean global digital paradigm leader Com2uS showcased their metaverse platform “Com2Verse” and announced their developmental plan throughout the press conference.

Company Com2Verse which is a subsidiary of Com2uS, stated their intention throughout the press conference held at Conrad hotel in Yeongdeungpo district Seoul on Thursday.

“Key point of metaverse is its technological ability to create a virtual open world where a lot of people can enjoy together, realistic content services, and separation of centralized ecosystem where users can get together to create unique user experience and ecosystem.“ CEO of the company Com2uS Song Jae-jun explained the values of Com2Verse throughout the press conference.

Metaverse located with Com2Verse will be divided into 9 separate so called “Islands.”

Individual “Island” consists of 900 blocks, individual block is made out of 100 different cells and one single cell contains a 256 meter squared in area.

Virtual space created within the metaverse will feature public and private places, which will be open to everyone and private spaces where only those with accessibility can enter..

Lee Kyung-il the president of Com2uS stated “Contents requested by the users will be aligned within the three dimensional space and ‘Meta browsing’ which allows users to freely walk around the metaverse or travel through time” adding “We will create a world where people can coexists and live their daily lives within the system.”

In order to create a realistic and reasonable metaverse, Com2uS hired Professor Yoo Hyun-joon from Hongik University as a cco (Chief Commercial Officer.)

Moreover, corporate such as KT, Hana Financial Group, SK Networks, Kyowon group, Kyobo Book store, Hanmin Healthcare, and more corporate will be participating as a cooperative companies.

Regarding the detailed plans on the collaboration between KT and Com2Verse, president of the company Lee Kyung-il stated “We are continuing on with our in depth discussion, therefore at this point nothing can be confirmed.”

Com2Verse is planning on building office spaces, convention centers, and more where partnered corporations can use within the first quarter of 2023, and slowly open up the service in third quarter of 2023 to corporate users. Service for individual and small medium business owners will be released on the first quarter of 2024.
