SEOUL December 17 (Yonhap) -- Most commonly installed application among generation Z turned out to be "Instagram."
NHN data disclosed their research analyzing the data of over 2800 android users using the installation data of applications on Saturday, data collected by the company was later on sorted into different categories accordingly to various generations, such as generation Alpha which consists of those in between the age demographic of 0 to 12, generation Z which consists those in age 13 to 24, Millennial who are in their 25 up to age 44, generation X which are within their age of 45 upto 59.
Based on the research "Kakotalk" was widely downloaded among generation Alpha, Millennial, and generation X whereas Generation z downloaded "Instagram" the most, shortly followed by "Naver."

However, among generation Alpha, "Roblox" a game metaverse platform topped the chart and "Tiktok," and Pokemon Gofollowed shortly after.
When extended into the segment of finance and banking, South Korean banking application "Toss" topped the chart, and under the segment of food, "Baemin" topped the chart despite of the generation demographic.
Similar to generation Z and millennial, generation X showcased high installation rate of online banking service, whereas convenient store applications such as "Pocket CU," "Seven Eleven" and more were commonly seen within the generation Alpha and Z.
Pattern of application installation was shared by those with similar lifestyle and work patterns of users.
Younger generation such as Alpha, showcased high download rate of free games, however, those in twenties, downloaded military related applications, and school related applications such as "Everytime" and other similar applications more frequently.
Millennial which consists of office workers, showcased high download rate of applications such as "280days," "Babytime," and more which falls into the category of pregnancy and parenthood, and those in Generation X downloaded golf related applications such as "SBS Golf," "JTBC Golf" and more.
