SEOUL, December 13 (Yonhap) -- Christmas festival "Myeongdong, Lights up winter" will be held at the Myeongdong Cathedral on December 23~25 according to Archdiocese of Seoul on Tuesday.
This festival was operated in small gatherings due to COVID-19 until last year, but different events will be held this year.
To begin with, Christmas concert will be held at the Myeongdong Cathedral on December 23 at 8 p.m. Dom Ensemble, Dom Soloist, Aquinas Choir will play "Sitz's Christmas stories and Mozart's evening prayer."
Christmas market will be held on December 24 and 25 starting from 11 a.m., until 11 p..m, at the square in front of the Myeongdong Catholic Center. Mulled Wine and sausages made by priests, and roasted chestnuts and roasted sweet potatoes will be sold by a team of young farmers.
A "hope tree" will be installed at the square where people who come and go to Myeongdong write their wishes, hang them on trees, and donate the price of ribbons. Donations and messages of hope collected during this period will be delivered to the Seoul National University free cafeteria, "Myeongdong Restaurant."
Performances of different choirs such as Cpbc Boys and Girls choir, Malange Opera company, Brass 'Bsang,' Musica Sacra Boys Choir, Magnificat Children's Choir will be held at the head of the Myeongdong Cathedral on December 24 and 25. Musica Sacra Boys Choir and Accordiem will perform at the "Myeongdong Restaurant" on December 25.
