SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korean veteran actor Lee Won-jong, who is known for his role in Netflix’s heist drama series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” has been named a new public relations ambassador for Namwon, a city in North Jeolla Province, South Korea.
The actor will play a part in promoting the city’s tourist destinations, cultures, and regional festivals over the next three years stating from Thursday. Lee made his screen debut with the hit action-crime flick “Nowhere to Hide” in 1999. Since then, he has been actively appearing in a slew of Korean-made films and television series.
“We would like to ask actor Lee Won-jong to spread the word on how beautiful Namwon is putting his healthy image that is loved by the public to use,” said Mayor Choi Kyung-sik of Namwon during the appointment ceremony.
