SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Yonhap) -- Actress Lee Yoo-mi has become the only Korean actor to be selected as the "2022 Next Generation Leaders" by the American weekly magazine TIME.
"Next Generation Readers" is a list of trendsetters and tred leaders released by TIME.
TIME evaluated the actress, saying, "'Squid Game' has already made Lee global star, and she is now making her own way in the world."
Debuted thorugh battery CF at the age of 15 in 2009 and carefully built her acting career through small and supporting roles, the actress made grand appearance on global stage with Netflix original series "Squid Game."
Lee received Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in last Sept.
Lee said, "While I am receiving lots of love globally, I believe that I should stay the same always no matter how the situation surrounding me changes," adding, "I want to be remembered as an actress who makes people think 'I want to see the work if she starrs in it.'"
