SEOUL, Mar. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean mega-hit actor Lee Min-ho has claimed that the imposition of a fine by the National Tax Service happened due to an accounting error.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, MYM Entertainment, which manages the artist, wrote, “The recent imposition of a fine was due to a differing interpretation on whether Lee was one of the subjects of compensation for the violation of portrait rights.”
The agency then emphasized, “We faithfully paid for the additional taxes that have been levied by the ruling of correction due to an error in accounting in the process of handling corporate expenses.”
The 35-year-old actor plucked to stardom with his role as Gu Jun-pyo in “Boys Over Flower” and has been starring in a slew of mega-hit television series and films including “The Heirs,” The Legend of the Blue Sea,” and “The King: Eternal Monarch.”
