Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk to lead upcoming series 'Twenty-Five Twenty-One'

SEOUL, Sep.7 (Yonhap) -- Actors and actresses Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk, Bona, Choi Hyun-wook and Lee Ju-myoung have been cast for upcoming series “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” in the first half of the year, according to the drama producers Tuesday.

The production features the growth of five youngsters fluttering and feeling pain between friendship and love.

Kim will take the role of Na Hee-do who succeeds in becoming a national fencing sabre after having a hard time as a member of the high school fencing club which disappears due to financial difficulties. Nam will play Baek Yi-jin who becomes a journalist after living a harsh life as the first son of a broken family.

Bona will play Go Yu-rim, the youngest fencing gold medalist and a rival to Na Hee-do. Choi will be a past influencer Moon Ji-woong and Lee has taken the role of Ji Seung-wan who is a class president and a highest scorer but at the same time is a Joan of Arc type with a heart full of rebel.

Screenwriter Kwon Do-eun, writer of “Search: WWW,” will write the the script and Jung Ji-hyun PD, director of “You Are My Spring,” “The King: Eternal Monarch” and “Search: WWW,” will take over the director’s spot.

“We ask for lots of attention and anticipation for “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” a steady-seller across all eras and a series that can bring out the touching memories of the young days deeply hidden inside our hearts,” said the producer Hwa&Dam Pictures.
