SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) — An event that allows visitors to stroll through Gyeongbokgung Palace and experience its historical ambiance under the autumn night sky will be held from September 11 to October 27, announced the Cultural Heritage Administration’s Royal Palaces and Tombs Center on September 2.
The night tours will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, offering the opportunity to freely explore iconic locations within the palace grounds, such as Gwanghwamun Gate, Heungnyemun Gate, Geunjeongjeon Hall, Sajeongjeon Hall, and Gangnyeongjeon Hall, all illuminated beautifully under the night lights.
Visitors can also explore Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, where royal banquets were once held, and the area surrounding Gyotaejeon Hall, the queen's residence, including Amisan, a small garden behind the hall.
Tickets for the night tours can be purchased through Interpark Ticket, with sales starting at 10:00 AM on September 4. A total of 3,000 tickets will be available each day. Foreign visitors can purchase tickets on-site at the Gwanghwamun ticket office on the day of their visit.

Admission is free for those wearing traditional Korean hanbok, veterans and their spouses, individuals with severe disabilities and one companion, those with minor disabilities, holders of national bereaved family certificates, children under the age of six, and seniors aged 65 and above. These visitors can gain entry by presenting identification or relevant documents at Heungnyemun Gate.
Entry for the night tours is allowed until 8:30 PM. The tours will not be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, September 19 (a designated palace closure day), and October 9, when the Royal Culture Festival takes place.
