I.O.I unveils prerelease track 'Goodbye With a Smile' ahead of comeback

SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group I.O.I released the prerelease track "Goodbye With a Smile" at 6 p.m. Monday, its agency Swing Entertainment said.

The song was originally recorded by the members in 2016 and is being unveiled to mark the group’s 10th debut anniversary.

It bridges the group’s nine-year hiatus since its disbandment in 2017 and its upcoming reunion.

"Goodbye With a Smile" features the members’ unembellished vocals and emotions captured during the original recording.

Music producer Jinyoung, formerly of boy group B1A4, participated in the song’s production.

I.O.I will release its new album "I.O.I : LOOP" on May 19 before embarking on an Asia tour.
