SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- Actor Park Sung-hoon, who gained fame for his role in Squid Game 2, has faced backlash after mistakenly posting an explicit photo.

The incident has impacted his upcoming drama Tyrant’s Chef, with its script reading session postponed.

tvN announced on Friday that the script reading for the new drama Tyrant’s Chef (directed by Jang Tae-yoo), originally scheduled for the same day, had been delayed.

Test shoots planned for later were reportedly canceled as well. tvN issued a brief statement, explaining, “The script reading schedule has been adjusted considering the societal atmosphere during the national mourning period.” The broadcaster did not address the recent controversy surrounding the actor.

The controversy began on Nov. 30, when Park Sung-hoon accidentally uploaded a parody image of Squid Game from a Japanese AV (adult video) to his social media account. Though he quickly deleted it, the incident went viral on online forums, sparking widespread criticism.

BH Entertainment, Park’s agency, explained the situation, stating, “Park Sung-hoon mistakenly uploaded a post he received via direct message to his Instagram story. He was deeply shocked and regrets the incident. He is reflecting on his actions.”

Despite the controversy, Tyrant’s Chef is set to air in the latter half of this year. However, the sudden postponement of the script reading has raised eyebrows, especially since other performances and film screenings are continuing in a subdued manner during the mourning period.
