SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) -- Veteran actor Jung Woo-sung, 51, has remained silent for three days amid growing controversy over his paternity of a child born to 35-year-old model Moon Ga-bi.

Rumors and photos concerning his personal life continue to spread widely.

While it was initially expected that Jung might address the matter at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards on upcoming Friday, his agency has announced that his attendance is now under reconsideration.

Jung Woo-sung’s agency, Artist Company, stated on Tuesday that they are "reassessing his attendance at the Blue Dragon Film Awards." This marks a change from their earlier position that Jung would attend as planned. Jung is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Kim Sung-soo's 12.12: The Day, where he starred alongside Hwang Jung-min.

Jung is reportedly concerned about how his personal controversy might affect the awards ceremony and the "12.12: The Day" team. The film, a box-office hit with over 13 million viewers, is nominated in nine categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor (Park Hae-joon). The Blue Dragon Film Awards were anticipated to be a celebratory event for the film, but the focus has shifted to Jung’s personal matters.

If Jung were to attend, speculation suggests he may address the controversy, potentially overshadowing the ceremony and any accolades 12.12: The Day might receive.

The situation escalated quickly. On the morning of Nov. 24, reports surfaced that Jung was the biological father of Moon Ga-bi’s son, born recently. By that afternoon, additional reports emerged about a long-term relationship Jung allegedly maintained with another woman.

Adding to the controversy, photos of Jung with an unidentified woman began circulating on social media, and his past participation in a campaign supporting single mothers resurfaced, drawing further scrutiny.

The actor, long known for his upright and gentlemanly image, has faced mounting criticism, with the controversy now extending to his past actions and relationships. Public attention has only intensified as he remains silent.

Artist Company has consistently refused to comment on the rumors and reports surrounding Jung’s personal life, including whether he formally dated Moon Ga-bi or has marriage plans. The agency has only confirmed that Jung is the father of Moon’s child, but declined to elaborate further on their relationship, the timing of the child’s birth, or other details.

Even as the public awaits a statement, Jung’s silence raises questions about whether he will eventually address the controversy—at the Blue Dragon Film Awards or through another platform.
