SEOUL, March 10th (Yonhap) -- Korean video game company KRAFTON announced to have invested in 'NODWIN Gaming', an Indian e-sports company also known to be an independent subsidiary of mobile gaming company, 'Nazara Technologies'.
KRAFTON, famously known for their online game, "PlayeUnknown's Battlegrounds", invested a total of 1.64 billion rupees (about 25.5 billion won) in an Indian company for the first time.
The Nazara Group is currently providing gaming and e-sports services in global markets such as India, Africa and North America.
KRAFTON mentioned that the company plans to enter the e-sports market in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa through this investment.
"We will continue to seek investment opportunities in India's e-sports, video game, entertainment and technology industries," said Kim Chang-han, CEO of KRAFTON.
"We believe that the partnership with KRAFTON will accelerate the growth of e-sports in India and open the door for more cooperation opportunities between India and Korean game companies in the future," said Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Technologies.
The CEO of NODWIN Gaming, Akshat Rathee said, "We are very pleased to be supported by Korea's KRAFTON, the mecca of the gaming and e-sports industry."
