SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) --The Securities Museum in the Busan International Financial Center (BIFC), which was closed due to COVID-19, reopened after two years.

According to the Korea Securities Depository on the 14th, the Busan Securities Museum on the 2nd floor of the BIFC building started fully operating on the 7th as social distancing was lifted.

Accordingly, the public can visit the Busan Securities Museum for free from Monday to Friday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m).

The Busan Securities Museum, which opened in December 2019, was temporarily closed from February 2020 due to COVID-19.

With an exclusive area of 2,728 square meters, which is three times the size of the Ilsan Securities Museum opened in 2004 by the Korea Securities Depository, Busan Securities Museum is the largest securities museum in Korea.

The Busan Securities Museum exhibits 1,700 domestic and foreign securities materials and 49 videos, including 107 relics including the stock certificates of the Dutch East India Company.

This place has attracted attention as a place for financial education as one is able to see the history of the world economy, the story of the Korean stock market, and the advancement of a capital market at a glance.

After reopening, the museum is operating a docent exhibition commentary three times a day (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.) and is accepting advance reservations for group visitors.

A customized financial education program is also being operated for upper elementary and middle school students.

An official from the Busan Securities Museum said, "The museum has normally reopened as the social distancing measures has been lifted. With supplementary work being done, it will also be free on Saturday."
