SEOUL, Feb. 20 (Yonhap) - GS25 has announced on Monday that it will release “BELOW” and cream canelé products known as popular café in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on Thursday.
GS Retail and BELOW have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 13th to release products that utilize BELOW’s intellectual property (IP).
In particular, Jeong Hyun-gyu, a cast member of the love reality program "EXchange 2," has attended the signing ceremony, and Jung plans to operate the flagship store in Dosan, the seventh branch of the BELOW, as a BELOW investor in the future.
The cream canelé original, which will be released this time, is a fusion-style product of canelé, a traditional French snack, and features a crispy outside and moist inside.
GS25 has explained that unlike conventional canelé that are sold at room temperature, it is distributed and sold in a refrigerated state, so you can feel sweetness and coolness.
GS25 plans to introduce earl grey and chocolate flavors sequentially in the future.
Last year, GS25 refrigerated dessert sales grew 77% year-on-year.
