The National Palace Museum of Korea released the Illustrated Dictionary of the Joseon Royal Culture's illustration files

SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- From the 29th, about 1,050 original files of illustrations in the 5 volumes of "The Illustrated Dictionary of the Joseon Royal Culture" were uploaded on the website (gogung.co.kr) for the public by the National Palace Museum of Korea.

This Illustrated Dictionary, the museum's published, is a book introducing the Joseon royal lives and the imperial cultures of the Korean Empire based on data from the past. It has published 5 volumes including Costumes·Court Music and Dances·National Sacrificial Rites·Ceremonial Accoutrements(儀仗· a tool used to show dignity of a high person on parades)·Arms(武具·equipments used in wars)


Illustrations of the dictionary were based on documents, existing relics and the advices of the experts. The pictures of armors and helmets in the "Arms" were produced for one month for exact reproduction.

Anyone can use or even change or modify the illustration files if the sources are clearly cited.
