SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Yonhap) -- This district office of Seongdong-gu announced on the 15th that the 4th "Eungbong Falconry Festival," will take place on the 19th at 11 a.m. under Eungbong Bridge.
The annual festival, which began in 2021, is rooted in the historical background of Eungbongsan Mountain, which once served as a falconry ground with an eungbang (a government office for falcon hunting and breeding). The character "eung" (鷹) in Eungbong means falcon.
At the event, intangible cultural heritage practitioner Park Yong-soon, a master falconer, will demonstrate falconry skills. The district highlighted that "it will captivate viewers as a rare and unique experience in the heart of Seoul."
The festival will also feature traditional game experiences, celebratory performances, DJ shows, and food markets.
