SEOUL, Oct. 23 (Yonhap) -- ENA's new culinary reality show, tentatively titled Baek Jong-won's Les Miserables, will premiere next month.
ENA announced on the 23rd that the Saturday variety show Les Miserables will begin airing on the 30th of next month. In the show, participants who have experienced failure will take on challenges set by Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, to seize life-changing opportunities,
The program is designed to give individuals who have faced hardships or made significant mistakes a chance at a fresh start, ENA said.
In the show's first teaser video, Baek stated, "Almost no one goes through life without experiencing failure. During those times, people often think, 'I wish someone would help me.' I wanted to be that someone." He added, "There are so many young people who have fallen. I wanted to give them hope."
Details about the challenges Baek will present to the participants have not yet been revealed. However, it was announced that four chefs—Kim Min-sung, David Lee, Lim Tae-hoon, and Yoon Nam-no—will serve as "homeroom chefs," suggesting that cooking will play a significant role in the show.
Among the four chefs, David Lee, Lim Tae-hoon, and Yoon Nam-no recently gained recognition by appearing on Season 1 of the Netflix variety show The Devil’s Plan, where they were known by their unique titles: "Meat Tyrant," "Delivery Chef," and "Crazy Cook," respectively.
