SEOUL, Jan. 23 (Yonhap) -- Actors Son Suk-ku and Choi Hee-seo are set to make their Hollywood debuts in the independent film Bedford Park, according to Son’s agency, Stannum, on Thursday.
Son will portray a former wrestler struggling to heal past wounds and rectify past mistakes. The film follows his encounter with a Korean-American woman torn between familial obligations and personal passions.
Choi Hee-seo, credited as Moon Choi for her U.S. activities, will play Son's counterpart. Known for her roles in films such as Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet (2016) and Deliver Us From Evil (2020), as well as her performances in plays like The Lives of Others and The Cherry Orchard, Choi has previously collaborated with Son in Unframed (2021) and Night Fishing (2024).
Bedford Park marks the directorial debut of Stephanie Ahn, a Hollywood-based writer and editor. Filming is slated to begin this spring, with a goal to premiere at film festivals next year.
The project is co-produced by B&C Content, a management and production company collaborating with actor Ma Dong-seok on multiple films.
Chris S. Lee, CEO of B&C Content, described the film to Variety as "a conversation about identity, resilience, and the sacrifices made for love." He added that "Stephanie Ahn's vision, combined with the exceptional performances of Son Suk-ku and Choi Hee-seo, brings this story to life."
