SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Yonhap) -- Jang Nara has claimed the Grand Prize at the SBS Drama Awards.
The award ceremony, held early on December 22 at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul, recognized her outstanding performance in the drama Good Partner, where she portrayed Cha Eun-kyung, a meticulous divorce attorney with 17 years of experience. The series achieved a peak viewership rating of 17.7%.
In her acceptance speech, Jang Nara expressed disbelief and gratitude, saying, "I can't believe it, and I don't know what to say. It feels like all the amazing things in my life happen at SBS." Fighting back tears, she continued, "As I grow older, I realize how miraculous it is that people who don't even know me love and watch the dramas we create."
She concluded by expressing her commitment to her craft: "Whether people like or dislike me, I'm grateful they watch. I will continue to work hard and hope to remain an actor people are curious about."
Jang Nara, who debuted in the sitcom New Nonstop (2001), has built a successful career with hits like Successful Story of a Bright Girl (2002), My Love Patzzi (2002), Babyfaced Beauty (2011), The Last Empress (2018), and VIP (2019).
The Director's Award, chosen by SBS StudioS directors, went to Park Shin-hye for her role in Judge from Hell. In her speech, Park said, "I constantly think about changes and how long I can continue in this profession. I’m grateful to viewers for embracing my transformation."
