Bakery giant SPC's CEO questioned for allegedly forcing bakers to quit labor union
SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Yonhap) -- Prosecutors questioned the CEO of bakery and beverage giant SPC Group on Wednesday as part of an investigation into allegations that an affiliated firm forced bakers to quit their labor union.
SPC CEO Hwang Jae-bok appeared at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office as a suspect over allegations that PB Partners, an SPC affiliate supplying bakers to the group's bakery chain Paris Baguette, forced the chain's employees to quit their labor union or subjected them to personnel disadvantages.
Hwang previously served as a chief of PB Partners.
He is also accused of greasing the palms of prosecution investigators to obtain information while SPC Chairman Hur Young-in was under investigation on charges of breach of duties.
