Late Korean War hero Paik Sun-yup's statue unveiled

Participants, including Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup (R) and Veterans Affairs Minister Park Min-shik (3rd from R), unveil a statue of the late Korean War hero Paik Sun-yup at the Dabudong War Memorial Museum in Chilgok, 215 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on July 5, 2023. Paik was South Korea's first four-star general and most renowned war hero, who led key battles during the 1950-53 war and contributed to the modernization of South Korea's armed forces.
