S. Korea puts off launch of homegrown space rocket

The homegrown space rocket Nuri, is erected for launch at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, 328 kilometers south of Seoul, on May 24, 2023. Its blastoff, the third of its kind, was unexpectedly postponed hours before the scheduled time due to a technical glitch. First Vice Science Minister Oh Tae-seog said in a briefing, "While controlling a helium valve, officials found a communications problem between a launch control computer and a launch pad facility control computer." The KSLV-II rocket, carrying eight satellites, was originally planned to lift off from the center at around 6:24 p.m. that same day. (Yonhap)
