KOFIA chief, Indonesian envoy discuss investment cooperation
SEOUL, April 15 (Yonhap) -- The head of the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA) met with the Indonesian ambassador to Seoul on Wednesday to discuss bilateral investment cooperation, the association said.
KOFIA Chairman Hwang Seong-yeop held a meeting with Ambassador Cecep Herawan at the group's building in western Seoul, along with economic officials from the Indonesian Embassy, KOFIA said.
The two sides exchanged opinions on pressing trends in Indonesia's financial market, as well as major development projects and the investment-related policy environment in the Southeast Asian country.
Notably, the two sides agreed to seek opportunities for partnerships, including those regarding development projects in Ibu Kota Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital under construction set to replace the current capital city of Jakarta by 2028.
"We plan to use this meeting as an opportunity to expand areas of investment cooperation and identify specific collaboration projects," Hwang was quoted as saying in a release.
