Speaker Kim Jin-pyo declares the passage of a motion to impeach two senior prosecutors -- Son Jun-sung and Lee Jung-seop -- during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Seoul on Dec. 1, 2023. The opposition-controlled parliament voted to impeach Son over a political meddling scandal and Lee over alleged irregularities that critics say are a pretext to punish him for overseeing an investigation into opposition leader Lee Jae-myung.
