Cabinet meeting to exclude head of broadcasting regulator from list of attendees
By Kim Eun-jung
SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Cabinet meetings plan to exclude the head of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), Lee Jin-sook, from a list of attendees, a presidential spokesperson said Wednesday, citing a decision by state auditors that her remarks allegedly violated political neutrality.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung made the remarks a day after the Board of Audit and Inspection issued a caution against Lee, chairperson of the KCC, about her remarks made on her social media about state affairs.
"The Board of Audit and Inspection recently determined that the KCC chair violated the State Public Officials Act, which prohibits political activities by public officials, by making politically biased remarks," Kang told reporters.
Lee, who took the post in July last year under former President Yoon Suk Yeol, has attended Cabinet meetings since President Lee Jae Myung was inaugurated.
