Wooden tablet from ancient kingdom

This photo, taken Dec. 6, 2023, shows a waste collection facility at Daemo Mountain Castle of the Taebong Kingdom (901-918) in Yangju near Seoul, where archeologists from the Giho Cultural Heritage Research Center have extracted a wooden tablet containing the drawing of a human being and Chinese characters. An analysis of the tablet, called "mokgan" in Korean, showed that it carries 123 Chinese characters on a total of eight lines, which marks the largest number of inscribed characters among such tablets found thus far on the Korean Peninsula.
