SEOUL -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un finalized his decision to deploy troops to support Russia in its war against Ukraine on Aug. 28 last year, shortly after Kyiv launched a surprise offensive into Kursk, a video released by the North's state media showed Sunday.

The Korean Central Television recently released the music video of a song titled "Remember," featuring North Korean soldiers who fought in Russia's front-line region of Kursk.

N. Korea's Kim inspects new missile-producing factory ahead of planned trip to China

SEOUL -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has inspected a new munitions factory that produces missiles, state media reported Monday, ahead of his upcoming visit to Beijing to attend China's military parade.

Kim visited a major munitions enterprise the previous day to review the country's capability to produce missiles, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported, without disclosing the location.

Vietnamese leader voices hope to meet N. Korea's Kim in congratulatory message

SEOUL -- Vietnamese President Luong Cuong has sent a congratulatory message to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ahead of the country's national founding anniversary next week, expressing a wish to meet in person "as soon as possible," state media reported Friday.

The message was delivered the previous day, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, ahead of the North's 77th anniversary of its national founding on Sept. 9, 1948, by the current leader's grandfather, Kim Il-sung.
