Lee to meet with ruling, opposition party leaders next week
SEOUL, Sept. 5 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung will meet with leaders of the ruling Democratic Party (DP) and the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) next week, the presidential office said Friday.
Lee is scheduled to have a luncheon meeting Monday with DP leader Jung Chung-rae and PPP leader Jang Dong-hyuk, joined by their senior aides, Kim Byung-wook, presidential secretary for political affairs, told reporters.
Following the three-way meeting, Lee will have a separate one-on-one with Jang at the PPP leader's request.
"The meeting is arranged to exchange candid opinions about state affairs. We hope it will provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperative politics and communication," Kim said.
