(LEAD) Fire erupts at SPC Samlip plant in Siheung

SIHEUNG, South Korea, Feb. 3 (Yonhap) -- A fire broke out at a factory owned by confectionery company SPC Samlip on Tuesday, authorities said, with only minor injuries reported so far.
The plant in Siheung, some 30 kilometers southwest of Seoul, caught fire around 2:30 p.m., and some 70 firefighters and other personnel were sent to the scene to put out the blaze and search for possible victims.
The fire started at a bread production line inside the plant, where 12 people were at work, according to officials.
Three workers were treated for smoke inhalation, while another was rescued from the roof.
Firefighting authorities ordered a Level 1 response, which calls for mobilizing up to 50 pieces of equipment from three to seven fire stations.
