Patriots and Veterans Affairs Minister Park Min-shik reads a presidential address in place of President Yoon Suk-yeol during the 72nd memorial service at a gym in Seoul on Nov. 24, 2022, for some 4,500 U.S. soldiers who fell in a fierce battle between U.S. Marines, and North Korean and Chinese soldiers near Jangjin Lake in North Korea's South Hamkyong Province in the winter of 1950 during the Korean War. The campaign eventually enabled 100,000 civilians to evacuate from the North Korean port of Hungnam to South Korea. (Yonhap)
