Court hearing on impeached interior minister
The second hearing on Interior and Safety Minister Lee Sang-min's parliamentary impeachment takes place at the Constitutional Court in Seoul on May 23, 2023. The National Assembly passed Lee's impeachment bill on Feb. 8, citing the government's allegedly bungled response to a crowd crush that killed 159 people in the capital's Itaewon district in late October of the previous year.
