Number of Chinese visitors to Korea jumps 16.4 pct in Sept.

Myeongdong, a shopping mecca in Seoul, is packed with tourists and visitors on Oct. 9, 2025, the last day of a seven-day break for Chuseok, the Korean harvest holiday that fell on Oct. 6 this year. The number of Chinese visitors to South Korea rose 16.4 percent from a year earlier to 525,396 in September, government data showed, with Seoul's visa-free program expected to attract more travelers from China.
