KRX takes part in global bell-ringing ceremony for gender equality

SEOUL, March 13 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Exchange (KRX) said Friday it hosted a bell-ringing ceremony for the 12th annual Ring the Bell for Gender Equality campaign in celebration of International Women's Day this month.

The event, jointly organized by the International Finance Corporation, UN Global Compact and UN Women, was held at the bourse operator's building in western Seoul, according to the KRX.

Launched in 2015, the campaign aims to encourage exchanges and companies to implement practices that improve women's access to finance, participation in leadership and economic opportunity.

A total of 115 exchanges around the world took part in this year's campaign, which was held under the theme "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls," the KRX said.
