Exhibition on Confucian scholar's calendar

Choi Eung-chon, head of the Cultural Heritage Administration, speaks during a media showcase at the National Palace Museum in Seoul on Nov. 24, 2022, to unveil a calendar on which Ryu Seong-ryong (1542-1607), a high-ranking official and a Confucian scholar of the 1392-1910 Joseon Dynasty, is believed to have kept a diary. In the calendar retrieved from Japan, Ryu gave an account of the last moment of Adm. Yi Sun-sin who was shot to death in 1598, when Yi led the Korean Navy's final battle against Japanese invaders.
