CJ Group Vice Chairwoman Lee given Abu Dhabi Festival Award
SEOUL, Feb. 5 (Yonhap) -- CJ Group Vice Chairwoman Lee Mie-kyung has won the 2024 Abu Dhabi Festival Award for her outstanding lifetime dedication to art and culture, the group's media and entertainment arm said Monday.
Lee, globally known as Miky Lee, became the first Korean to receive the annual award presented by the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation on Saturday.
She was recognized for her significant contributions to the growth of the Korean film and entertainment industry, CJ ENM said.
Lee overseas the overall strategic direction and management of South Korea's entertainment powerhouse CJ ENM, which is behind many globally acclaimed Korean films and TV series, including the Oscar-winning "Parasite" and "Decision to Leave."
The foundation also recognized Lee's commitment to promoting K-pop by "creating and expanding KCON, the world's largest K-culture festival that celebrates Korean culture and music worldwide."
Inaugurated in 2012, the award honors individuals committed to fostering cultural diplomacy and dialogue.
