Flowers of hibiscus hamabo in bloom

This photo, taken July 17, 2023, shows blooming flowers of a hibiscus hamabo tree, called "hwangeun" in Korean, along a road in the city of Jeju on South Korea's largest island of the same name. The tree, which was designated as an extinction-threatened plant in 1998, was taken off the list of endangered species of plants last year amid restoration efforts. (Yonhap)
