Woori Financial prepares 10.2 tln-won support program for businesses to weather U.S. tariff fallout

SEOUL, April 8 (Yonhap) -- Woori Financial Group said Tuesday it has prepared a large-scale financial support package totaling 10.2 trillion won (US$6.98 billion) to help South Korean businesses weather the fallout from reciprocal tariff measures introduced by the United States.

The group said it will expand its liquidity assistance for export-oriented companies, their suppliers and small businesses by launching the new program worth 7.3 trillion won on top of an existing 2.9 trillion-won support scheme for companies.

The upgraded support program includes various measures, such as reduced interest rates and fee waivers.

Woori Financial said it developed the plan after collecting feedback from exporters and related companies through its corporate lending officers nationwide, and will continue to enhance the program depending on market conditions.
