S. Korea promulgates new judicial reform laws

Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae arrives for work at the court in Seoul on March 12, 2026, following the promulgation the same day of legislation of three judicial reform bills that have been passed at the National Assembly. The reform bills introduce a new offense of "legal distortion," allow constitutional appeals of court rulings and increase the number of Supreme Court justices from 14 to 26. (Yonhap)
