
Rain in drought-hit region in northeast S. Korea
This photo, taken Sept. 18, 2025, shows water rising in Obong Reservoir in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, northeastern South Korea, following two days of rainfall. The water level of the reservoir, a source of tap water for the region's households, rose to 23.8 percent of normal levels as of 8:00 a.m. the same day, compared with 71.8 percent of an average year.
