Ex-military intelligence chief arrested over martial law scandal

Cho Hyun-chun (C), former commander of the now-defunct Defense Security Command, is taken by prosecution investigators upon arrival at Incheon airport, west of Seoul, on March 29, 2023. The prosecution arrested Cho, who has stayed in the United States since 2017, in connection to a probe into allegations that the military intelligence unit documented a martial law scenario to control potential public unrest in 2016.
