Son of de facto late Sewol ferry owner extradited from U.S.

Yoo Hyuk-kee (C), the second son of Yoo Byung-eun, the late chairman of Semo Group linked to the 2014 Sewol ferry sinking, is taken to the Incheon District Prosecutors Office upon arriving at Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul, on Aug. 4, 2023. South Korea took custody of Yoo, a U.S. resident, from the United States in accordance with criminal extradition procedures in order to investigate him on embezzlement and breach of trust charges incurred during his alleged involvement in the management of Semo Group.
