4.0 magnitude quake hits southeastern city of Gyeongju
This map, taken from the website of the Korea Meteorological Administration, shows the location of a 4.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the city of Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, southeastern South Korea, on Nov. 30, 2023. The quake, the second-strongest quake to occur on the Korean Peninsula or waters around it so far this year, struck the city, 277 km southeast of Seoul, at around 4:55 a.m. at an estimated depth of 12 km, according to the administration.
