SEOUL, Feb. 27 (Yonhap) -- World-class violinist Vadim Repin will collaborate with the KBS Symphony Orchestra for the first time in 16 years.
The violinist will perform on KBSSO 775th Subscription Concert on the 26th, at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, and on the 27th, at the Art Center Incheon Concert Hall, according to KBSSO.
Vadim Repin held his first concert six months after he started playing the violin at the age of five and was called a child prodigy. At the age of 11, he won the Wieniawski Junior Competition and the Queen Elizabeth Competition at the age of 18, becoming one of the world's top violinists.
Together with Maxim Vengerov, he is considered one of the two greatest violinists in Russia.
Lepin, who worked with the KBS Symphony Orchestra in 2006, will play the masterpiece "Violin Concerto No. 1 in g minor" representing German composer Bruch on this stage. A work characterized by a sweet melody and free form, the audience will feel Lepin’s fancy technique.
Lepin also knows KBSSO’s music director Pietari Inkinen, who performed with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Orchestra in 2018 and showed an impressive performance.
KBSSO will also present Sibelius’s “Andante Festivo” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No.4 in f minor” on stage.
