SEOUL November 01 (Yonhap) -- Cancelation of the concerts continues, due to mourning period until November 5, which was announced by the South Korean government.
According to the music industry, mourning period set due to the unfortunate incident took place in Itaewon on the night of the Halloween, led numbers of artist who have originally plan on hosting their concerts to either cancel or postpone their concert on Tuesday.
Mix gender K-pop group Koyote decided to postpone their concert which they have planned to kick off on November 5 and 6 at Saejong University to January 7 and 8 of 2023. According to the agency, they carry on the list of people who purchased the tickets, however they will provide full refund to those who want to get their tickets refunded.
South Korean female singer Baek Ji-young canceled her first concert of the domestic tour which was planned to kick off on November 5 at Cheongju city and singer Jang Min-ho decided to cancel his solo concert planned for November 4 through November 6 at Olympic Hall in Seoul.
Singer Baek Ji-young addressed through her agency that “I am very sad that such tragic incident happened.” adding “I would like to send my deepest condolences. I am very sorry, I hope you guys, understand with your kind hearts.”
South Korean artist Sung Si-kyung will be continuing on with his concert as scheduled on December 23 to December 25, however he decided to postpone the date of the ticket being open for reservation. Sung Si-kyung’s agency planned on the tickets to go on sale at November 4 at 8 p.m. however they have decided to postpone to November 10 at 8 p.m.
Some of the foreign artist’s visit to South Korea has been postponed as well
Pop star Michael Bolton decided to postpone his first South Korean concert in 8 years, has been postponed to January of 2023.
Also four of the shows of “MJ Live Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Korea Tour” has been canceled due to the incident on the night of Halloween.
Some of the concerts originally planned after the national mourning period, such as Maroon 5’s concert on November 30, Sun Si-kyung’s concert in December and more will be held as scheduled.
However it seems like they will work hard to provide better safety regulation for all the audiences to enjoy the show more safely.
