SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Yonhap) -- Korean-German violinist Clara-Jumi Kang's "Bach Complete Sonatas & Partitas" performance was canceled due to the spike in COVID-19 cases and concerns about the omicron variant.

"Clara-Jumi Kang's 'Bach Complete Sonatas & Partitas' concert has unfortunately been canceled due to the tightening of quarantine measures for overseas arrivals caused by the spread of the omicron variant," performance agency Vincero Arts Management & Entertainment said Monday.

Kang was scheduled to perform at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, southeastern Seoul on Dec. 13.

However, the performance eventually fell through as Kang was unable to arrive in Korea due to performing overseas until Dec. 3.

The government decided to place all overseas arrivals under a 10-day quarantine for two weeks starting on Dec. 3, regardless of their nationalities and vaccination status, to tackle the omicron variant.

Recently, in the classical music industry, performances have been continuously canceled due to the government's strengthening of quarantine measures. Earlier, German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott canceled his performances, which were scheduled to be held at Lotte Concert Hall between Dec. 4-5.
