Game-like recruitment session...Nexon meets job seekers on metaverse

SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- Nexon will hold an online internship instructing session dubbed “The Kingdom of emploment” on metaverse platform 'Gather Town' from Aug. 31 to Sep. 1.

The session has reproduced the map of Nexon's representative game 'The Kingdom of the Winds' and the company building.

Job seekers who enter through applying in advance can process their own character for the virtual world and freely communicate with the other participants.

In the 'The Kingdom of the Winds zone,' which is a reproduction of the game's 'The Empire of Buya' map, users can participate a giveaway event by searching in the map and finding out the hidden keywords through NPC located in the hunting ground for beginners, forge and inn.

In the 'Nexon Zone,' an online version of Nexon building, users can see various Nexon game arts and can check for the company's contribution to the society and information of its new games. They can visit the reproduction of the building's cafeteria and preschool.

Job consulting will take place in the 'Career Zone.' Staff from each division will take their corresponding consulting booth for such as game programmer, engineer, business development, game design, 2D/3D game art and game service. Users are also provided with overall information about the second half of this year's internship policies and can have an interview for instructions of the hiring process.

"For our first attempted online instructing session, visitors have commented that especially the reproduction of 'The Kingdom of the Winds' game map and our company building were fresh and well shows our identity as a game company," said Cha You-sun, chief of Nexon hiring team.

From Aug. 24 to Sep. 6, the company will recruit applicants for 'Nextorial,' their internship in the second half of the year. The upcoming internship, unlike the previous ones, provide with equal wage and welfare as a regular staff. All Interns who prove their abilities and capabilities will be changed into regular employees regardless of their number.
