SEOUL, March 16 (Yonhap) -- BABYMONSTER will embark on a new world tour starting in June, beginning in Seoul and spanning five continents — Asia, Oceania, Europe, North America and South America.
The announcement was made Monday through the official blog of the group’s agency, YG Entertainment.
The group previously held its first world tour, “HELLO MONSTERS,” from January last year, performing 32 shows in 20 cities and drawing about 300,000 fans.
YG said the upcoming tour will be held on a significantly larger scale than the previous one, adding that the group’s momentum is expected to accelerate further.
Ahead of the tour, BABYMONSTER will release a new mini album in May featuring the title track “CHOOM.”

Yang Hyun-suk, YG’s executive producer, described the upcoming release as “a completely new album unlike anything the group has presented before.”
“Thanks to the enthusiastic support from fans, we were able to organize the second world tour sooner than expected,” the agency said. “Both the artists and staff are putting in great effort to deliver more dynamic and enhanced performances for fans around the world, and we ask for your continued support.”
